Early Life and Education
Raymond Vahan Damadian was born into an Armenian family in Melville, New York, USA.
He earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1956 and a doctorate in medicine from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City in 1960. Prior to his medical career, Damadian was also an accomplished artist and violinist.
